Direction Averaging

Problem
When averaging wind direction using Version 3 Starlog software, Revision 3.09D, the readings logged for averaged data are incorrect (i.e. the data will randomly fluctuate by approximately 180 degrees around the true wind direction appears to change abruptly on a plot or in a data table).
Correction
The data is actually logged incorrectly and it is not possible to repair incorrect logs. A software patch is required.
Download the file PDL6504.src from the link and install it into the \starlog directory. You must then resave the affected schemes.
