Product Alert #39
8007 MicroLogger
8007 MicroLogger Issues
3 April 1997
39.1 Intermittent SERIN Instruction Operation
Problem
This will only occur when using a Model “A” MicroLogger and the AREF signal as the HSSYNC for HSIO transfers.
The AREF signal (when used as the HSSYNC) on the Model “A” occurs before the HSCLK signal has become stable. This means that an additional clock may be occur, which has the effect of dividing the SERIN reading by two.
Correction
The correction is to delay the AREF signal until after the HSCLK is stable (as is done in the Model “B” units). To do this you must swap the signal controlling the AREF from MPWR to MRUN.
This is done by:-
- cutting a track on the top of the PCB
- fitting a wire mod under the PCB
Refer to your UNIDATA office for details.
39.2 Scan Synchronised UPS Stays On
Problem
Incorrect operation of the Scan Sync UPS occur in MicroLoggers fitted with Version 60.2 or 61.2 Firmware. Both Models “A” & “B” are affected. (The previous Versions 60.1 and 61.1 did operate correctly.)
Correction
The correction is in
Version 60.3 or 61.3 Firmware.
