Product Alert #17
STARLOGGER DATA LOGGER - Model 6004B - Serial #751 onwards - V22.2
Starlogger Issues
21 June 1994
17.1 Firmware Version 22.2 – Delta based EVENT Logging continuously logs data
Problem
The JMPGT/JMPLE instruction operates incorrectly when the “src” operand contains zero.
Symptom
A Delta EVENT based logging scheme uses the JMPLE instruction to determine if a change has occurred. However, if the change value is zero (no change) then logging occurs, when no logging is expected.
17.2 Sense 1 not stored in B32 (Model 6004B)
Problem
The STARLOGGER does not store the status of the Sense 1 input into B32 register.
(Note: Sense 1 is also used for SDI-12 data communication and is normally low and must be pulled high to 5V (pin 13) to activate instead of shorting to ground (as in the Model 6004A). However, when using a potential free contact, the B32 result will be the same as in the Model 6004A.)
Correction
Upgrade the Model 6004B STARLOGGER to V22.3 Firmware.
