The temperature on the 6508 can be tested with a multimeter.
1. Disconnect all 6508 wires from field termination strip.
2. Connect multimeter between Yellow and Green wires.
3. Measured resistance should be approx 3000 ohms at room temperature. +-200
ohms is close enough.
Also
1. Connect all 6508 wires to field termination strip.
2. Run diagnostics.
3. Enable UPS (O00 or U depending on logger).
4. Measure mV reading with multimeter across Analog ground and analog
channel with yellow wire.
5. The mV reading should be approx 833mV +-150mV at room temp.
